This weekend at Buni Hub, 9 startup companies who made it to the second round of the Africa Business Idea Cup had a chance to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of judges to secure their businesses to get to the final round which will then determine who wins the $5000 PRIZE.
Africa Business Idea Cup, a competition by DMM Africa which is organized in 5 countries, being Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe aims at digging up new business ideas from Africa and connect it to the market.
This Saturday, Trickster, who is the organizer here in Tanzania,organized a session where the 9 startups pitched their ideas and in the end, the judges had to decide which two ideas will move to the next round where one will walk away with $5000 and also a paid for trip to Japan.
Startups who made it to the final round were Team Black Hole, whose business deals with ways of managing electronic waste to solve environmental pollution problem, and the other one was Binti Huru project with their Elea Pads product, a social business that specializes in local manufacture and global supply of cost effective, reusable sanitary pads. These two will have a final round of the competition on the 16th July.
